Welcome to the  SMART Sheet Metal Workers Local 270 website. Whether you’re an existing member, or seeking employment within our organization, our site will provide useful information about our association. Local 270 places highly skilled craftsmen with Mechanical and Sheet Metal contractors across Oklahoma in a number of major industries. 

The regular monthly union meeting is held on the 2nd Monday of each month.  The E-board meeting begins at 5pm.  The union meeting starts at 6pm.  The meeting is at the Union Hall. 1863 North 105th East Ave. Tulsa, Ok. 74116

Biggest Gains In 2017 Union Membership Were For Younger Workers

Last week, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released data on changes in union membership from 2016 to 2017. It was good news for workers, as the total number of union members grew by 262,000 in 2017. Three-fourths of these gains (198,000) were among workers aged 34 and under, who account for less than 40 percent of total employment.
